Welcome to the marketing hub!

By Rachel Pitman on Mon 29 September 2014 in Placement Blog

Welcome to the marketing hub! I have been at ProspectSoft for two months now and in my role for just over a month.

We’ve all settled in to working life – Jess and I have personalised our desk and have even made up a team handshake.

One of the main highlights of this first month was reaching and exceeding our 300-booking target for the Silverstone event – for which we have been rewarded wine and a toga party to celebrate! It’s great working as a team and seeing your hard work pay off.

The amazing thing about working for Prospectsoft is how much responsibility you are given – I was initiating email campaigns in my second week! Myself and my marketing sister Jess were given the task of organising the customer care packs for our Silverstone event in November. We have carried out market research, liaised with suppliers, organised samples, generated quotes and raised POs – quite a lot when we have only been in our roles for about a month! You never feel like ‘just a placement student’ here that’s for sure.

In the next month, I have an exciting project to plan. I am solely responsible for our social media strategies and have put together a report considering our positioning and a few campaign ideas. Our Head of Marketing enjoyed the report and objectives, meaning I now have a lot to implement. And, to top it off one of my campaign ideas really stood out so she has put me in charge of making it happen from start to finish! It will take a lot of hard planning but after Christmas I will be able to say that I have planned, implemented and managed a social media campaign which sounds like a crazy statement after just 5 months on placement.

I will update you on our social media competition soon! In the mean while you can keep up with the happenings in the marketing and sales hub by following us on twitter @PS_placements or liking our Facebook page.
