“… And that’s a (Chicken Fajita) Wrap!”

By Rosie Lanham on Sun 06 April 2014 in Placement Blog

The new placements have started at ProspectSoft; 9 fresh faces made their first appearance at our August Company meeting on Monday.

Which means it’s exactly a year ago since I started my placement, and now only have a month to go! It got me thinking about the past year and what the highlights have really been for me on during my time here…

Recruitment. Having the chance to advertise and interview for next year’s sales and marketing placements was a really exciting opportunity that taught me a lot, but was also very rewarding. It will be great to get to know the “chosen ones” over the next month and I look forward to hearing about everything they achieve over the next year.

The NUE Awards. Working together with the other placements to put forward ProspectSoft’ s application was loads of fun, and culminated with a fantastic night at the Awards (hosted by RateMyPlacement) in London.  We helped ProspectSoft win ‘Best SME Placement Provider’ for the 4th time in 5 years- an amazing achievement for the company, and a very proud moment for us!

But the biggest learning curve for me personally has definitely been the Best Practice Events. Organising and executing the most recent series of events was a great challenge for me and I really enjoyed refining the event process and seeing the results on each event day. My favourite aspects of the event are creating care-packs for each delegate to take-away, engaging the attendees through emails and social media in the lead up, and getting to meet everyone face-to-face on the day. As the food obsessed member of the marketing hub, I also loved choosing the lunch menu at each venue! Chicken fajita wraps at our most recent event went down a treat.

The Marketing and Sales Department have pulled together to create a really successful series of events that it was great to be a part of. Our event at Winchester Science Centre in March was the biggest ProspectSoft event to date, and our most recent event at Brands Hatch Circuit had the lowest drop-out rate ever. I have learnt loads during my time at here, but the events have definitely been a highlight and I was sad when the series came to an end! I received a bottle of Prosecco and a lovely bunch of flowers from the team to thank me for my work on the events- a thoughtful touch that shows how much ProspectSoft appreciate their placements and how you are a valued member of the team!

So now with just a month left to go, I am wrapping up the last few bits ready for the handover to the new placements. Hopefully they will enjoy all the opportunities and have a great year. But that’s it from me! Make sure you keep up to date with the blog to see how the newbies get on after we say “Goodbye!”.
