I think it’s fair to say the Sales and Marketing placements have most definitely been the winning department in spreading the Christmas cheer around the offices this year.

As soon as the 1st December came, we were up the stairs quicker than you can say mince pies to make sure that we got the best Christmas tree (which of course, we did!) We spent the afternoon decorating our office and this year there has been a new and very special addition to the ProspectSoft tree – Christmas Fry. Chris Fry, one of the Sales Consultants, had the privilege of being ‘festified’ by the placement team and now sits at the top of the tree with his new title looking very angelic.  

Another surprise came when we found our own personalised advent calendar on our desk as a treat from our Sales Director – we’re all pretty big chocolate eaters in our office so as you might be able to guess, some of us may have opened a few windows that we shouldn’t have done much too early… Rachel over in the marketing hub also arranged our Secret Santa this year and we all watched as the pile of presents under the tree grew until it was time to gather around with some mince pies to exchange our gifts.

But in Sales and Marketing we didn’t want to spread the Christmas cheer around just our own offices – we took it one step further and sent out over 1000 mince pies to our customers. Luckily we had some spares left over to snack whilst tying the perfect bow on each box. Our desks soon started to resemble Santa’s workshop, and an elf comparison was made by several of our colleagues!

As Rachel told you in her last blog, December also saw the launch of our Christmas Twitter Game #PSXmas14 in association with RateMyPlacement. After several vines, numerous promotions and plenty of Christmas Jumpers the hard work paid off and we had a great response. We gave away prizes to our four lucky winners who are currently looking for placements next year. I have since been  enjoying talking to some of our winners and sharing the tips that I’ve learnt as Placement Recruitment Officer to give them advice on various stages in the recruitment process.

Last Friday it was finally time to wrap up all of our hard work with the ProspectSoft Christmas Party. We were all cordially invited to solve a murder mystery over dinner at the Oxford Retreat.  All of us girls put our dresses and heels on and got ready to be detectives for the evening. It was a great night, made even better by the fact that Jess and I were on the winning team!

As Christmas draws closer, it won’t be long until we have to start making preparations for next year in the Sales and Marketing department, including finding our placements for the next year! It’s been a great year for all of our placements here at ProspectSoft, and we’re all very excited to see what the coming months have in store for us!
