This year the newly rebranded RMP Awards were back, bringing employers and universities across the country together to celebrate the greatest placement and internship schemes that the UK has to offer, in an exclusive and grand virtual event. With nominations based solely on student reviews, the ‘Best Student Employers’ category was split into two tables: 

• Best 100 Student Employers: intake of over 21 students
• Best 45 Small to Medium-sized Schemes: intake of 3-20 students

This format combined the former ‘Best Medium-sized Scheme’ and ‘Best Small to Medium-sized Employer’ into one, clear category. But even following the rebrand that heightened competition, ProspectSoft still placed 5th amid 44 other acclaimed schemes – what an achievement! 

So, now we’ve covered the logistics, what does this mean for us?

Being recognised for our placement scheme is a great feat for us, regardless of the position we obtain in the overall table. Since the scheme was established in 2003, we’ve worked tirelessly to ensure our placements gain valuable experience from their 13 months with us, and having the student reviews to verify our efforts is an exceptional achievement. 

To have placed 5th in the overall ranking not only demonstrates the hard work our senior members of staff put in to ensure that the placement scheme is run with the students in mind, but also emphasises the value we place on our placement scheme to keep the business up and running. As its primary source of recruitment, ProspectSoft’s placement scheme really is an integral part of the company, and we like to ensure that students really feel like part of the permanent team during their 13 months in industry. So, to have this accreditation bound to our company name is like a badge of honour! 

Highlights from the event

The live virtual event brought together over 500 key stakeholders in the industry, as well as some guest speakers including former professional boxer, Nicola Adams; the first female boxer to retain an Olympic title. The ceremony commenced with a panel discussion surrounding some key topics around student employability, followed by a question & answer session with Nicola Adams in which we learnt about her incredible journey to gold medal success, and we even got an insight into her experience as a Strictly Star! The subsequent awards were announced swiftly after, where we placed 5th amongst big names like Toyota and Lidl.

We’re really pleased to have placed so high in the ‘Best 45 Small to Medium-sized Schemes’ table alongside so many renowned names, and to have been recognised for the placement scheme we work so hard to improve year after year. A massive thank you to the judges and coordinators of the 2023 RateMyPlacement Awards – we’re absolutely thrilled to have been part of such a successful event!
