My New Year's Resolutions for the Workplace

During your placement year, it's important to set regular goals for yourself - and the New Year is a perfect time to do just that! Read all the resolutions Caner hopes to achieve during his remaining months as a Customer Success Assistant.

As a placement student, the start of a new year is a time to reflect on the progress you’ve made and set goals for the future. While it can be intimidating to think about what the next year may bring, making a resolution can help you stay focused and motivated as you work towards your professional and personal goals.

One resolution that can have a big impact on your placement experience is committing to ongoing learning and development. As a placement student, you have the unique opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience and learn from professionals in your field. For this reason, as part of my new years resolution, I plan on taking bigger responsibilities in my role, so that I can develop more of my core skills such as my technical skills, communication skills, and personal qualities like time management.

Throughout my time at ProspectSoft so far, I have definitely enjoyed the social aspects of my placement, such as spending time with my fellow colleagues after work, Pizza Fridays, and work social events. For this reason, another part of my new year’s resolution is to continue to participate in these social events and have a fun year!

Now that I am halfway through my placement year, I can say with great pride that I feel as if I have improved in my role and have developed my skills in such a short time. For example, being able to collaborate on many projects with the Onboarding team has shown me how essential teamwork is. This knowledge will greatly benefit me when it comes to returning to university as I can use the skills I have gained and apply it to multiple different aspects of my final year of studying. My improved time management and teamwork skills will no doubt help me when it comes back to handing in team-based assessment deadlines. Therefore, my time at ProspectSoft is developing both my professional career and my return back to University.

As a placement student, you can learn and grow in a professional setting. By committing to ongoing learning, you can make the most of your placement experience and set yourself up for success in your future career. This new year, make a resolution to invest in your own development and see where it takes you.

The ProspectSoft Placement scheme has been built for students who want to achieve their full potential. Visit out placements page to explore all the roles we have to offer!
