‘Woaaahhh we’re half way there’

By Joe Pleece on Thu 27 February 2014 in Placement Blog

With reference to Janet Jackson’s 1987 hit single, how time flies when you’re having fun!

Thankfully, there are no signs of the fun slowing down either with key dates in the ProspectSoft social calendar fast approaching. We are all looking forward to the annual Masons ball, Rate My Placement awards evening (fingers crossed) and our March Digital Marketing best practice event in Winchester.

It is scary to think that we have now been within our placement roles for 6 months or in the words of Bon Jovi ‘woooah we’re halfway there’. It only feels like yesterday that I completely overestimated the notorious M25 traffic, arriving almost 2 hours early on my first day. However, nothing cemented the feeling that ‘time flies’ more than holding the Sales and Marketing assessment day for next year’s placement students.

Rosie was responsible for handling the placement recruitment process from start to finish. Starting by reading over 280 CVs and holding telephone interviews with successful applicants. Rosie’s chosen 20 were then invited to our Sales & Marketing assessment centre, the final stage of the process.

The day ran smoothly, a personal highlight being an exceedingly original applicant presentation on how cats are used in marketing! Rosie was certainly more comfortable sitting on the other side of the interview this time around. Huge congratulations to the 5 new Sales and Marketing placements, we cannot wait to see you again at the familiarisation day in April!

Personally, I am thoroughly enjoying my sales role and the responsibility of exclusively managing our Web Analytics product. From managing my pipeline to product demoing and after sales care I have learned a tremendous amount in just 6 months. After countless successful demos and a couple of closed sales, I feel I have found the area of business I would love to base a career around. This was an important objective of mine during my placement year and thanks to the opportunity presented by Prospectsoft I have achieved that!

In other sales and marketing news, we are edging ever closer to our next best practice Digital Marketing event held at the Winchester Science Centre. The Marketing team have put a tremendous effort into revamping the event’s entire look and agenda, generating a brilliant buzz around the event. After securing a fantastic venue within the Science Centre’s planetarium the pressure was really on to fill the room with attendees. With 140 confirmed bookings after a solid 2 months of calling, it really is due to be ProspectSoft’s biggest event to date.

Roll on the final 6 months!
