The Event Experience- A Placements Perspective…

By Rosie Lanham on Tue 19 November 2013 in Placement Blog

It’s been a busy month in the ProspectSoft Office since Hanna posted the first placement blog!

If you didn’t get to see it, read her introductions to all of the new placement recruits and how we have been settling in at ProspectSoft. We have all been busy taking on our various roles and responsibilities, and it’s safe to say it’s been quite a learning curve…

For me personally, a lot of my time has been taken up with organising my first ProspectSoft event! As a company, we hold quarterly events that offer the chance for businesses to learn about Prospectsoft and gain free business advice from our in house experts and consultants. The final ‘Business Growth Workshop’ of the year was held at the Birmingham National Motorcycle Museum on the 7th November.

So, it has been go go go in the Sales and Marketing Office; booking a record number of people onto the event and introducing new, exciting content. It was great to experience and organise the event from start to finish; and be able to contribute to the company in such an exciting way. The event had quite a makeover compared to our previous events; we introduced lots of new material and free, branded giveaways for everyone who attended.

The marketing team all got stuck in with creating the first ever ProspectSoft Info-graphics (that will be the first of many) and coming up with some fun ideas for freebies, including ProspectSoft Travel Mugs, Key Rings and even a Lip Balm! It was fantastic to see everyone opening their Welcome Packs, and we got some really positive feedback which made all the work worthwhile.

It was also a great chance to network with customers and potential clients, and to talk to other businesses to gain an insight into their industry. The presentations by Managers and Directors at ProspectSoft were really interesting, and provided me with the chance to recap on everything I have learnt so far this year- I can’t believe how much I have learnt about eCommerce, eMarketing, Web Analytics… and the software industry in general!

I can’t wait for our next event and the opportunity to expand on the knowledge and experiences I have already gained so far this year. I have been very lucky to have so much responsibility so early on in my placement, but it hasn’t been daunting because there is loads of support and encouragement from the Sales and Marketing team- as well as lots of laughing on a daily basis!
