Introducing ProspectSoft’s brand new Inbound Marketers

By Jess Heald on Fri 26 June 2015 in Placement Blog

Our Inbound Journey actually started when we first joined ProspectSoft back in August.

After recently undergoing a mass-rebranding, ProspectSoft initiated several Value Proposition statements and created a buyer persona in order to increase the efficiency of our marketing and attract our ideal customer.

That’s why, when Rachel came across HubSpot’s Inbound Marketing Certification, we were all keen to get involved and broaden our knowledge on this inbound strategy that ProspectSoft were starting to adopt.

In a nutshell, Inbound Marketing is all about educating and empowering your audience with remarkable, high quality content which will cause them to naturally gravitate towards your company, where they want to be. By aligning the content, you publish with your customer’s interests, you naturally attract inbound traffic that you can then convert, close and delight over time.

The training consisted of 11 educational videos that clearly explained the fundamentals of the inbound strategy. One thing that really suited us, was that we could complete the videos as a team and in our own time. Not only was it a great team building exercise for us Sales and Marketing placements but the knowledge we gained has actually exceeded our expectations and we really enjoyed learning along the way! After several afternoons spent in the Oxford room with various virtual members of the HubSpot marketing team, we were finally ready to take the online test.

Luckily, we all passed (phew!) and could celebrate our new titles as official inbound marketers together! Not only did we receive a certificate which we’ll most definitely be framing, we were also awarded HubSpot badges that we could feature on our LinkedIn profiles and CV’s. As HubSpot are such a reputable company our new certification will undoubtedly increase our employability, make us better equipped for final year modules and raise our business profiles.

We’ve put together a list of just some of the areas we learned about, so you can see just how useful this course has been:

  • How to create remarkable content that will attract, convert, close and delight customers at all stages in the buyer’s journey
  • Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and how to optimise a web page with industry relevant keywords
  • How to create a brand persona and profile
  • The importance of aligning your Sales and Marketing teams through creating Service Level Agreements and Closed Loop Reporting
  • The significance of delighting customers at all stages of the buyer’s journey, even after purchase

Everything that we’ve learnt through undertaking the HubSpot Inbound Marketing certification has been actionable advice that we’ve been able to implement in our daily tasks at ProspectSoft. For example, we’ve found that learning about blogging and email marketing best practices in more detail has positively impacted on our approach to these tasks whilst on placement. Additionally, we felt more confident in suggesting ideas based on what we’d learnt in the classes.

We’ve really enjoyed our Inbound Marketing journey and hopefully we’ll be able to convince our future placements to give it a go too!

Love the Sales and Marketing Placement Team
